Zaneta’s first corset

Last year one of my work colleagues, named Zaneta started to notice that I have quite a small waist compared to my hips. She started to ask questions and so I told her that I regularly wear a corset under my clothes. She was very curious about corsets and wanted to know more – What do corsets look like? What do they feel like? Are they comfortable? What effect do they have on the body? etc. Never at any point was she judgemental, so I decided to bring some different styles of corsets into the office for her to try on.

Zaneta tried on a What Katie Did Mae corset, which I laced quite looseley at first, I didn’t want to put her off by making it too tight. I was surprised when she told me that she loved the feeling of the corset as well as how it changed the shape of her waist. She walked around the office, sat down at her desk, wiggled around to see how it would feel, and she couldn’t wipe the smile off her face the entire time! I was so happy that someone who was completely new to corsets was so receptive to them so soon, it was honestly quite refreshing.

A few months later, I thought that it would be a nice idea to make Zaneta a corset. She had been such a good friend and I wanted to do soemthing to thank her. However, as soon as I asked her if she would like me to make her a corset (she said yes immediately) I instantly regretted it. I was terrified, what if I couldn’t do it, what if she hated it, what if the entire thing was a huge disaster and I just ended up embarrassing myself? Well it was too late, I had committed!

After several fittings, and lots of stitching, I finished Zaneta’s corset. As I was going to be shooting Ellen’s corset, I thought I would include Zaneta in the shoot. Seeing as I had made her an underbust corset, I needed to make her a bra too. I purchased a simple bra and covered it in lace and beads. I then bought her a white tulle skirt to finish off the look.

I’m so happy that Zaneta is happy with her corset and the images we produced with Russell Thomas, and I’m sure you will agree that she looks stunning. Thanks to my talented friend Jenna Kelly for the beautiful hair and makeup.
