Last week I ordered four pairs of stockings from Pamela Mann, which came to 16.96 UK Pounds plus P&P; they were dispatched almost immediately and arrived within a few days. I have to say, I was very impressed with the service, however I was slightly nervous about the quality of the stockings once they arrived.
I ordered the following items from Pamela Mann:
- 40 denier opaque stockings – White
- Charleston stockings – Natural
- Jive seamed dotty stockings – Natural and black
- Piano seamed stockings – White – black
The first thing I noticed when I opened the packs was how badly the stockings had been put into the packaging. It didn’t damage the stockings themselves but it isn’t really what I want to see when I open a new pack of stockings.
The length of the stockings is not great for me. I am close to 6 foot tall and these would be better suited to people who are not quite as tall as me. However, when I wear them, they are pretty much the length of stockings from the 40s, just above the knee.
Both the white opaques and the charlestons had a different coloured thread through the welt which was a little off-putting:
(Charlestons – see above)
However, if you are intending to wear them under a skirt, and not for show, this shouldn’t matter.
The piano stockings are good fun and I really like the stripey foot:
My favourites are the charlestons and the jives.
the charlestons have a really nice glossy gold finish and feel lovely, almost like silk.
The jives are just a bit of fun really, and I have wanted some dotty stockings for a while now.
I would recommend these stockings if you are an occasional wearer; they are more of a fashion statement than anything else. I would also recommend them if you are about 5 inches shorter than me! Pamela Mann does some really fun designs and for the price, they are not bad at all.
